The Jordy RIOT Model is one of my most reliable models available today (based off the Dumpster). It has added values in its design and is used as a step-down replacement board – a must in your quiver. To achieve the best performance out of the Riot – I have dropped the nose entry rocker slightly, and a deep, single concave runs throughout the bottom deck under the front foot area, hence creating a quicker acceleration off the mark, which in turn gives us faster rail to rail opportunities when doing turns or cut-backs. The slightly added volume will be a big help when catching waves as well as paddling out, and with a slightly wider and refined out-line-template, the slight hip in the tail section, will allow you to obtain a much tighter radius when putting your board on the rail through maneuvers. This board is designed to be ridden in slop or good knee-high waves, and comes in a rounded square squash tail. It should be ridden 2 to 3 inches shorter than your regular board. The beauty about this board is that it’s 5-fin set up allows you to surf in bigger cleaner waves, as tested in JBay on those perfect days.
